Brooks ghost or saucony cortana

I’m looking for another pair of trainers, I like to run in a different pair everyother day so that they kinda “bounce back”. I’ve been running my tempos/lsd days in the saucony flex…a small drop shoe similar to a flat. I love them because I do have a faster toe off, but hate them because my calves are absolutely destroyed after this past week…

Looking for a good pair of trainers, I’m running 60 miles a week so something that can handle about 30 of that. I’ve narrowed it down to two shoes that get raving reviews…the brooks ghost…and the saucony cortana. Which probably is the best of those two? I tend to strike forefoot.

I would try the Brooks ST5 instead of the Ghost 3.

They’re on ghost 4 now…but why the suggestion?

ST2 is a stability shoe, don’t bother unless you need some stability.

Cortana is a vastly different shoe, extremely soft, snugger in the heel and midfoot than the Ghost, 4mm heel drop as opposed to 10ish. Cortana is also more flexible in the forefoot. Very different ride.

keeping it in the Saucony family, have you given the Mirage a look?

cheers

Yes but I haven’t gotten to look at it in person yet. I do need to try it out I’m sure. Still trying to get a more forefoot oriented shoe with some cushion. Just to alleviate the pain build up from my flexs.
