Brooklyn marathon 2 weeks after doing the NYC marathon

So here’s the deal.
I was looking to PR at the NYC marathon this year and qualify for Boston.
Training for the most part went well, and it looked like I had a good shot at pulling it off.
3 weeks out from the race I got the flu and couldn’t run for 2 weeks.
The last week before the race,I did a few easy short runs.
Felt ok on race day,but I’m sure I wasn’t 100% recovered.
Pace wise, I was on target until about mile 20. After that my pace slowed down quite a bit.
I ended up falling about 10 minutes short of my goal time.
Next Sunday is the Brooklyn marathon and its a Boston Qualifier.
Technically,I know I won’t be fully recovered from NYC to do this race and honestly, its probably a terrible idea, but I thought I would give it a go at Brooklyn.
I plan on running at least 13 miles and if I don’t think its going to happen,I’ll drop out of the race with no regrets.
Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and laid down a good run? Do you think its possible to pull it off?
Unfortunately,I can’t do another marathon later in the year or early next year for work related reasons.
Thanks
Joe
