Broken toe healing time?

So I slammed my foot into a wall by accident and fractured my little toe. Anyone else ever have this happen? and how long before you were running without pain again? Thanks!

It’s pretty fast. I broke my third toe last year and was running the next day. It was probably a month or so before I was running without any pain. Try to tape it to the next toe for support for awhile.

MOST of the time, quickly - but NOT always! You will likely be running way before the fracture actually heals since they rarely hurt all that much after a couple of weeks, but they still take 6 weeks + to “heal”. There are people on this board who have been dealing annoying broken 5th digits for over 8-10 weeks though :frowning:

I played collegiate soccer and broke four of my toes during a game. All I did was have the trainer tape the things up and I was good to go. It hurt of course but I was back in the action without a decrease in performance. Toes will heal rather quickly (in my experience). Just tape em up and keep doing what you’re doing.

Did this today!! It is blue and swollen twice its size. Am riding the Argus Cycle Tour (Cape Town South Africa) tomorrow and cannot comfortably wear my cycling shoes. Got my old pair out of storage and cut the side away next to my little toe. Works pretty well! Know I am going to get comments tomorrow but WTF!

Running without pain? Quite a while. Running at all? A week, maybe two. (I was back ice climbing within a week, don’t remember if I started running again before or after climbing.) Same as others here–just tape it up, give it a bit of time, then suck it up

I’m the …“but NOT always!” 10th week yesterday…went for an MRI. Doctor is thinking scar tissue has
developed between the healing bone.

rroof isn’t my doctor…I wish he was…He sure has been a great help !!!
