I’ve inquired about a crash replacement on my broken derailleur hanger. I received a message back from my bike shop that Cervelo will not do a crash replacement. If I want a new frame then I’ll have to buy it at retail.
Now to be clear, this is not a warranty issue. I broke the hanger in a crash.
Does anyone have any experience with this policy or a way to get it fixed?
I’ve already called Calfee Design and they said they will not do a repair on that frame.
Classic means it’s not the new P2 frame that was released this year. The 2014 P2 is essentially the 2014 P3 with a different fork. If your P2 was made before 2014…you have a “classic” P2
That sucks big time and the new replaceable derailleur hangar made me nervous when i bought my Cervelo. I thought Cervelo had a lifetime warranty and/or crash replacement.
Yes! cervelo has a crash replacement program. Tell your LBS this… And or don’t spend another cent with them. You may have to deal with a shop, but you can get almost any frame set you want p2-p3-p5 you get one at a discounted rate… Decent company, I crashed a P1 and they extended this offer just last year.

When I tore off my rear derailleur hanger on my P3C, they gave me a crash replacement frame for basically wholesale cost. But my P3 was the old model and my crash replacement was a 2012 version of the old P3. So maybe they are changing their policy now with the new frames out.
But if that hanger is going to clamp under the quick release, you’re gonna need a quick release for 135mm (mountain) hubs. A 130mm (road) quick release won’t be long enough.
It actually clamps well with the stock skewer from Cycleops. I have to check the threading to make sure it is in far enough, at first glance I though it was.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
The only thing I need to do now is put a mounting screw in to hold it while I have the rear wheel off. I’m just a hack machinist, there are some good guys coming in today that can countersink a screw and make it look pretty. If this works out I’ll have one of those guys make a couple of pretty ones for me. Gonna have to buy them lunch a few times for that though.
I would be absolutely sure that the skewer tip extends just slightly past the end of the skewer nut (so fully threaded in the nut). A failure of a QR skewer at speed can be disastrous. No kidding.

Make sure the cost of the lunches cost less then the cervelo crash replacement frame, otherwise …
