Breaking 10 Documentary

Saw this documentary on my flight and was blown away. At first I thought it was going to be the same content we see on youtube with various athletes “chasing kona” where they’re pretty much there in terms of capability (life long athlete, Boston qualifier, etc.) or they have immense resources (no outside stress)

But this was different. It was more close to what the average MOP / FOP triathlete dreams of. Guy was a 12-13 hour IM finisher and needed to get A LOT faster to break 10 hours. He also encountered real world challenges (job, relationship, moving).

I really enjoyed it and don’t want to spoil it for anyone, so give it a watch, you won’t regret it.

It. Was. SOOOOOO. Bad.

I’ll pass. Back in the 2007-2012 tone frame here in Phoenix, a local triathlete created a Sub-10 brand where he even had merch! I don’t think he ever did break 10 hours at IMAZ but he did at IMNZ.

Found it to be barely watchable. No real flow, the filmmaker didn’t have a story… The whole thing was them looking for one, but it wasn’t there.
