FYI: The zipper is designed so that you can unzip it down or pull up on the stap and it will come apart
What is the purpose for them? They seem to cause more trouble than they are worth. I’ve had the extra flap of material at the top get caught in the zipper when I pull up (which would be a nightmare in a race). And if you zip too high it comes apart so I’m afraid that could happen in the water during the swim. Is it too difficult to just pull the strap down like on a regular suit? I don’t see what you gain.
whoa, you can pull up on the strap and it comes apart. Cool I always wondered what the “breakaway zipper meant” I’ll have to try it on my suit.
I love my suit (2004 superfull), heads and toes and 100X better than the suit I had before I usually run my leash over the velco at the neck hoping that’ll keep it from getting tugged down to easily
I’ve been using one of these for almost a year and I love it - no problems with the zipper and it sure does come off easy while you’re running to your bike.
Ponyboy,
When you use your right arm to yank the breakaway zipper over your left shoulder, in one fell swoop you can pretty much pull the sleeve of your left arm by only pulling the zipper. In general though whether you use your right arm or left arm, always yank over the left shoulder because that is where the zipper extension is.
I always use the breakaway zipper as do many other people, but your option is to open it regular.
Hope this helps.
Herbert
