I was out for a 3 hour ride yesterday. Sounds great, except for the howling gale and the monsoon rains. A while ago, I replaced my stock shimano pads with Kool-stop black pads, which are considerably better and quieter in dry conditions. However, I did notice yesterday, and on a few previous occasions, that the Kool-stop pads basically suck in severe wet weather.
I went to the LBS today, and picked up a set of Bontrager pads, we’ll see how they work. That was all they had other than the Koolstops. Anyone else have any recommendations for pads that aren’t as abrasive as the shimanos, but still work in the wet? Anything else I get would need to be via mail order, which generally works out to be more expensive for me than buying local, so I need to make sure that whatever I get is what I want.
Thanks.
