If he tries to counter-sue the governing body for “mental anguish” or whatever else you can counter sue for…that is going to make a governing body (any of them) hesitant to pursue any future allegations with anyone. Might open Pandora’s box to doping. Scare the governing body enough and they wont act unless they are 100% sure and there is irrefutable evidence of doping.

It is difficult to believe they couldn’t track this, but on some level I just gave up caring and only focus on myself. TUEs are abused in cycling, triathlon, nordic skiing, gymnastics, tennis, etc. I’m sure Wiggins was using and abusing cortisone injections and who knows what else, just like many others still are. You can still micro-dose EPO. There are other drugs that aren’t EPO and have a very similar effect. There are gray area drugs like pain killers, erectile dysfunction drugs that improve blood flow, etc The biological passport is still easily beatable as well. Those who were cheating before it was introduced or were cheating before they started the passport can keep cheating and as long as the values remain consistent they pass.
I’m to the point where nothing surprises me. I just watch and enjoy the sports. In a decade we will figure out what full program the top pros are on. In the mean time we can act like everyone is squeaky clean.

His really like his statement, “To say I am disappointed by some of the comments made by UKAD this morning is an understatement. No evidence exists to prove a case against me and in all other circumstances this would be an unqualified finding of innocence.†He is not denying cheating, he is just explaining that you can’t prove his cheating. For sure. It’ll be interesting if anything more ever comes of this. The UKAD statement indicates that they are unable to take any action due to the lack of medical records and conflicting testimony. Brailsford in particular was caught in a number of untrue statements (Freeman visiting Pooley, Sky bus wasn’t there, pressuring Daily Mail to kill the story, etc). Perhaps the most interesting is Freeman’s cancellation of his testimony. Instead, he just sent it testimony.
Perhaps one day in the future, a Sky rider who was there at the time will get popped and will trade information for a lighter sentence (see: Hincapie, Vande Velde, etc). Perhaps Freeman’s laptop will show up buried under a pile of Q Rings. Maybe Sir Brad’s sideburns will grow lips and start flapping.
Odds are that someone will one day get pissed off enough and will start talking.
