I was wondering how this rides compared to a P2K. Is there any problems w/ durability. Thanks for any info.
Buy it because it’s cool.
I’ll agree with ze gopher that it looks cooler than the P2K but I have no idea how it rides compared to it. The biggest difference is that the BP Stealth is a road geometry, but IM Canada was won on one with a forward seat post.
another difference is that the cable routing is so conveluted( i know learn to spell) that i nor any shop could get my friends BP to shift clean. they do look cool but you could’nt give me one, if you want a "more " rad bike get a P3 .
cheers
got one. love it. no shifting problems with mine. lots of miles and i tend to be kinda harsh on bikes. no probs.
Super aero frames need two things to make them shift well:
a) Bartol System to rid it of the front mech.
b) Gore-tex or other coated cables.
Martec is who makes this frame, and they make a very nice, very durable frame and fork. Probably some of the best carbon made, in my opinion, albeit a bit heavy.
Everybody knows bike don’t look like guys - they look like women, and that’s a damn sexy lookin’ women…er bike.
Who’s there?
Olive who?
do you where i could get some good detailed photos of how the Bartol system looks like installed? does it have a ‘cage’ near the crank as a guide prevent the chain from falling off on a big bump if the rider is pedalling?
The Bartol has an outer chainguard, similar to the rock ring used by some mountain bikers, and an inner guard, inside the small ring, that keep the chain on. The big ring has ramps and pins that move the chain from one ring to the other whenever you are cross chain, thus eliminating the front mech totally. Mine works fine. I think the website is www.tisobike.com (maybe “.it”). You can purchase through www.xxcycle.com.
You can also check pedalforce.com. They sell the BP frame under another name, and it’s a little cheaper. And you can also get colors other than black.
