I saw a big black bear on the hill one time. I haven’t run across a mountain lion yet.
I would have a frickin heart attack if I saw one of those on a run.
We have them here in NorCal (by Stanford U) up in the hills. Usually they just eat rabbits/squirrel/deer, but if things get lean and they get desperate they will venture down into the residential areas, or attack folks on the trails. If they are well fed you never see them.
I was just in the Denver 'burbs, and they have Coyotes you need to watch out for if you run after sundown.
Actually, yes. I have. I’ve seen 3 of them. One while road biking, one while driving in my car & one while running. I’m just a bit south of Boulder fwiw.
Seen a couple bear cubs on the Mesa trail…Guess they like its’ beauty as well…
I’ve seen Mtn lion scat and tracks in the snow but never an actual lion. I’ve seen tons of bears.
I’ve been freaked out several times running in the early morning along this trail by a creek. My headlamp is not very powerful and I could see two reddish eyes and barely make out a big body connected to it laying along the creek. I couldn’t make out what it was but my heart rate hit 180bpm. Probably just a deer. I hope.
