Bottle cage with decent grip

Im after a decent bottle cage with decent grip for behind the seata nd also BTA.

Any suggestions?

I’m a big fan of the arundel mandible, but have only used on-frame and bta.

XLab Gorilla or Gorilla XT cage for rear and Chimp cage for BTA.

Specialized rib bottle cage

Cheaper than a gorilla cage and I have never lost a bottle.

Why the Chimp for the BTA?

The Gorilla XT is a bit overkill to keep a bottle horizontal between the arms with 14 lbs of bottle grip, but is great for keeping bottles behind the saddle in place. The Chimp is only 8 lbs of grip, which seems fine for horizontal bottles, and makes it easier to use them (I’m talking in terms of using a normal bottle BTA, not something like the Torpedo, for which the normal Torpedo cage has always worked fine in my opinion).

For bts, the topeak tri cage. The design prevents launches; it doesn’t rely on a death grip (so you can get bottles in and out easily).

I have yet to find better cages than the Arundel Mandible. Even over the gnarliest terrain on my gravel bike I have never launched a bottle.

Been using the Mandible Clones from AliExpress.
Can’t fault them.

Tririg used to have really nice bottle cages. They have quite a lot of surface area, which creates a decent amount of friction. Even going over speedbumps at race speed (>40 km/h) the bottles stay put. It seems like they changed their design though, so I’m not sure how well they grip now. The one downside to them is that when they become sticky from all the sugary stuff we consume, they hold on to a bottle like a dog to a new bone. Luckily that’s easily solved by cleaning them :).

Arundel also makes a plastic Mandible. $20 a piece is easier to deal with than $80. The Profile Design Vise is ok, but it doesn’t get along with insulated bottles as well.
