Sophie Goos, no wonder she pulled out of Kona with back pain. Seat is at least an inch too high. Head is about a foot too high.
Flanagan just looks uncomfortable and tense with that humped back. Rides like a swimmer.

I tell my friends this all the time… swimmers are not athletes. They are like baseball players, slightly in shape and with great skill sets.
Well I would say pure swimmers are certainly among the more unique athletes I have worked with.
My wife is an Olympic caliber distance swimmer. She has an aerobic engine bigger than all the male tri egos combined. I wish I had the engine and so would you.

This from someone who has swam for how many years?
That swims how much per week?
I think you wanted that statement in pink? ![]()

That’s classic.
Swimming and baseball are as far apart in athletic skill sets as there can be. Baseball, almost entirely eye hand coordination. Swimming almost all aerobic lite eye hand coordination
U must be out of your mind
I know, was messing around with a friend who’s monitoring this post. Keeps telling me that my swimming sucks. No offense to swimmers, or baseball players.
Yeah, Alistair Brownlee, Javier Gomez, Andy Potts, terrible athletes

These guys should all just hang it up and tell other people how bad they are.

They mentioned earlier that she’s riding in a more upright position in Florida probably because she had to pull out of Kona with back pain so her position there was different.
But I agree, she has a terrible position.
Someone needs to teach Jessica Jacobs how to ride a bike. Wow.

You could bridge the gap between baseball and swimming by throwing water polo into the mix…

what’s that actually mean, not being snarky just wonder, r u saying she could qualify for the olympics but just doesn’t fancy it?

And power. I know this forum thinks strength and power are lowly things but the power produced by a pro ball player during a swing or a throw is amazing.
And speed, stealing bases, running down balls etc. My only complaint with BB is they put in the DH specifically for fat old guys, which seems silly, but the best fulltime players tend to be great all around athletes.
…and timing, summation of forces and other factors… I would say not *too dissimilar to swimming actually, just a different motor pattern that’s been learned and refined over thousands of hours of practice. If anything the swimming example is a little more closed in terms of changes in the environment, where as the batter has to respond to the pitcher and hence opens the skill up.
If the argument is who is the most skilled, they both are.

And water polo is generally considered to be one of the hardest sports out there, up there with the other combat sports.
It means she already did.

How many watts?
I wonder if they use modified powercranks to fix arm imblances
