Yes slowing the rate of burn by stopping did help …but I definetly could feel a boost from the sugar in the grass…
How are you distinquishing this boost feeling is from carbs rather than from the possible placebo affect? It seems unlikely that these few stems would boost your blood sugar level enough that quickly to make a significant difference.
Interesting you should ask.Know thyself. I once had a blind kid that worked for me in the kitchen. He lost his eye sight due to a sugar disease he had.He was sporting glass eyes now. If his levels got low{ I know this is an exaggeration of the point but none the less}he would fall to the floor in a violent siezure…we had to get some OJ down him real fast and it worked almost immediatley. I ate the grass for five minutes ,it didn’t work that fast , it just allowed me to get home. Ever run a marathon and do a GU at 21 miles…you feel it.
I know, and I hate when it happens. I usually carry some kinda kicker and that day I didnt. I usually like to put some honey in my secondary water bottle. Just being over zealous to get on the bike.
I went out drinking a few years ago with a bunch of friends, one got really wasted and started puking while walking home. He then said something about dogs eating grass when they have upset stomaches, so he got down on all fours and started eating grass. Just made him puke more and have green stains on his hands, knees and face the next morning.
Strange that everybody agrees the placebo affect works, but nobody thinks it works on them. I guess I’m the only one. If I had your experience, I would really be wondering if the boost was carb related or in my head. Although I wouldn’t likely carry it out, my brain would be designing an experiment to find the answer. Human perception is wildly unreliably these type of subjective feelings.

He was partly right. Dogs eat grass to induce throwing up, because they have something bad in the stomach. Seemed to work on your fellow human too.
