Anyone ever tried them? I need some more ride food, and I’m not too tied to my Clif bars or Powerbars. They’re not sold anywhere near me so I’d have to go in for a case…any reviews?
I diggem. Don’t know much about the science behind the bars but they are moist, tasty and hearty. Seems like a good bar to me…
They’re good stuff! I’d buy a case…
Works fantastically well on a century around mile 85 to get you what you need to make it home.
PB&J is my fave flavour, although I did pick up a PB&B (banana) yesterday to try on tomorrow’s ride.
Love em’! The PB&J is awesome. They stay “soft” but don’t get yucky with the heat. A neat trick.
They’re great…and a good way to get 250 calories in just a few bites.
they are good but higher in fat than others
.
Yummy, anyone know where to get them in Canada?
I tried one today for the first time. PB&J flavor. It was good and easy to eat, and it’s a lot of calories packed into a small bar, but it was a little sweet for my taste. I wouldn’t be upset if I bought a case and had to eat them, but I prefer Clif Bars.
wow those look really healthy and look (if possible) tasty, looking forward to trying them. I don’t know about in-workout food as I like to be in a more controlled setting when ingesting my flax but looks to be a good alternative to fatty snacking/small meals.
I love these. They are soft and easy to eat, and delicious. Every flavor I’ve had is good. It’s more like dessert, but I’m fine with that on training rides.
I just wanted to follow up that I did buy a case of PB&J bars and used them on a couple of rides and races. My mini review:
They taste pretty good, and are easy to chew on. They don’t get all gooey like powerbars do when stuffed in my jersey pocket, which is awesome. The bars are kinda small, maybe half the size of a Clif bar with the same amount of calories, so they’re really dense - not necessarily a bad thing, since I’ve gotten used to munching one over the course of several miles. I realize that’s probably recommended for any solid food on a bike, but I never liked doing that with powerbars/clif bars. I think they’re way better than the aforementioned bars in terms of taste and texture. Taken with water, they sit well in my stomach, and I even ate little bits during the run leg of a tri with no problems. Overall, I think they’re a very good product and will be my food of choice unless something better comes along.
I got them online at http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/12320.htm (3 flavors available) - $20.95 for a case of 12 ($1.75/bar)
My review: Best tasting energy bar I’ve ever had. Very calorie-dense, which is a good thing on long rides, but perhaps not so good when you’re scrounging for a late-night snack. Jason, the dude who runs Bonk Breaker is a great guy and a serious athlete. He’s doing RAAM alongside Laird Hamilton and the bassist from Rage Against the Machine. I guess they’re paddle-boarding from LA to O’side at the start and Annapolis to NYC at the finish…they’ll need a lot of Bonk Breakers. I like the PB/Chocolate Chip best, but I think PB&J seems to be most people’s preferred flavor.

I dig them, dont generally like most bars, but love these. The higher fat is probably due to the flax seeds, which is a good fat! I would give’em a try, worth it! I love the pb-banana and the pb-choc. Cant eat the jelly one so my loss!
