I don’t expect it to be wetsuit legal… Except maybe the bike.

I’ve searched all over the web and haven’t been able to find a reliable water report on the temperature. I found once site claiming 58 degrees, but then when I searched other lakes the site reported ALL of them at 58 degrees. Seems dubious.
Based on what I’ve heard from others who have raced in past years, mid-to-high 50’s is probably what we’ll get.
Expect the water to be cold. High 50’s
I found a fishing website that said the temp was 60 degrees.
Weather portends even warmer lake temps. But doesn’t look brutal for race day. 81.
It was 57 this morning. A bit chilly to jump into, but not bad once you swam around. It seems like the wind stirred it up in the past couple days, it felt colder this morning.
Can we swim in the reservoir the day before the race? Thinking of checking it out to keep loose.
Yes, but go to a different area. They won’t let you in at Barkley Bay or Turner Gulch. Head up the highway to Spring Shores, or a smaller pull out spot by the dam.
Is there a specific pullout that people usually use (or at least one where you won’t get yelled at)? Spring shores is a ways up the road.
Right past the dam (stay on the highway), there is a viewpoint / rest area. It’s a bit of a hike down to the water, but it works.

The water was very pleasant tonight. Seemed to be 60+. I thought much better than on Saturday.
