Boise 70.3 today

Anybody else interested? Men’s field is decent. Paula should crush the women’s.

Have they got the tracker working yet?

Yup, nice to see the Metzler back in the mix. Would have been a good one to broadcast even though not a pro series.

Tracker is up, Appo and Riele off the front, Laundry a minute back. Metzler 2.5 Beals 3.5

Incredibly weak races both men and women. Typical North America 70.3. Irrelevant.

I’m putting 1, 2, 3 for women, but when i hit save it changes it to 4,5,6. I’ve tried several times.

Oceanside, StG and Eagleman weren’t weak fields. This is a typical field for a non- Pro Series race irrelevant of continent. This is the exact type of field non-series races should have, a few recognizable athletes and a crop of up and comers. These are the races the next generation should get experience in racing tactics to prep them for moving up.

Miguel from the Jenna & Miguel Freestyle Tri YouTube channel had a good race at Boise finishing 6th place.

Seeing two runs on Strava from the race at 19.5 km? Was it that short?

Mine was 21.04 km.

Cheers. Just rechecked. One I was looking at was Sam Appleton. He said it took a Km or two to find satellites.

Ah, makes sense. There’s a lot of tree cover and underpasses on the Greenbelt.

Yeah my watch showed 11.4 total. Threw my mile splits way off.

Of note, the pro transition was set up improperly so the higher numbers had to run further than the lower numbers. This was as far as additional 100 meters in both directions and significantly affected Miguel Mattox who was the highest number and missed his bike pack due to the additional minute+ required in transition. Huge oversight I haven’t seen before in an Ironman race.

There was an issue with T2 at eagleman as well. I think the volunteers directed the first few pros the wrong way. Not the volunteers fault…. IM’s fault for not educating the volunteers.

I noticed that during bike check-in, with the way the mats were laid down on the pavement, but on race day they made me run what I thought was the correct way. I wonder if they only realized it was set up wrong after the pros had gone out.

I wonder how all the other pro’s figured it out

Looks like the swim was a good bit long as well going by the pro’s times.

I don’t swim with a watch but it was either long or just slow. Certainly felt long…

Mine was 200 m too long.

Is it normal for the buoys to be this misaligned? No wonder I had so much trouble sighting.
