Bobby Julich is Mr. Elliptical

I thought that he was going to try them for a while and then go back to round rings, but it seems that he is taking this seriously.

Seems like an O’symmetrics, but it seems to me even more ovoid than some I have seen before.

Huh…I wonder why he is on that for TT only. BioPace is new again…

I think he uses Q rings. Have you seen the movie documentary “Overcoming”? Bobby is bitching about the mechanic who forgot to put on his rings. I knew what he was talking about, and I got a chuckle out of it. They are a bitch to adjust, and I bet the mechanic hates doing it.

I still think this is no more than a modern day shimano biopace chain ring, which where dropped 20 years ago. What about spinning?

They do not seem to be Q-Rings. I might say that they look more like the O.symetric rings, that he has used before http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2005/tech/probikes/?id=julich_csc_cervelo/dsc00677 but then they do look a bit different. Maybe it is the particular photograph.

Anyways, I find it interesting that he is still using them after several years.

Spinning is the trick… I noticed that it is really easy to drop into the low cadence mode with elliptical rings. I think the advantage comes when you discipline yourself to maintain the high cadence.

They are Osymetrics…

hey, I like free lunch too, except there isn’t such a thing…

who said anything about free lunch ?? maybe he just likes how they feel. if he put on a new model of handlebar would that be an issue of “free lunch” also??

sometimes people overthink this stuff.

Whoa there! I guess you’re a Julich fan…

Maybe he does just like the feel of them… but I doubt that’s the reason they’re on his bike.
