Agreed. Kilo is still a trackie rider’s wheelhouse if not gear limited.
Two critiques: video basically explains gearing advantage and also points should have been exponentially awarded from first down. So like 8 for first, 4 second, 2 third, 0 last. The mtb vs roadie aspect basically explains rolling resistance and aero drag penalty for the upright position.
Trackie probably geared themselves out. If they spun out in a kilo to a roadie, wrong gear. That’s gotta be under 1:30 for them right?
They tried a trackie sprint on a road bike in an episode years ago……trackie broke the chain.
