Hi, now that Oceanside 70.3 is postponed, only indoor biking remains! My bike display shows well wattage, RPM, virtual speed and virtual distance and sends via Bluetooth to Windows 10 PCs, but the app Bluetooth Analyzer in the Windows store does not receive, while other apps display, but not record. Does anybody know of any app taking the Bluetooth data flow? It should be a relatively easy task. Garmin watch & app record wattage and RPM, but not virtual distance. Thank you!
Best wishes for 2021 racing!
Which Garmin watch? If you tell Garmin you sport is “Indoor Cycling” you should get virtual distance.
Ditto above about the Garmins. If you have a wheel speed sensor or connect to a trainer, the Garmin will capture and record virtual speed and distance.
What kind of exerciser bike do you have? I presume you connected it to the Garmin as a power meter? Does it also have a speed sensor channel?
I’ve Garmin 910XT; it records well cadence (RPMs), but I just went on Garmin Connect and switched a record to Indoor Biking, but the distance didn’t appear. Where would 700cc be inserted? Usually is required for virtual distance.
I’m pretty sure you have to select the work out type before you do the work out. The Garmin should be reading speed from the trainer.
Thus, not on Garmin Connect, but on the watch menus, after the ANT+ calibration with the bike, I should select a workout? I did some attempt, but didn’t find. On Monday I’ll contact Garmin support.
I was able to enter the wheel size " 2096mm = 700 x 23 C " and registered some indoor bike and transfer on Garmin Connect, but still 0.0 miles.
I head out to the swimming pool, it is healthier and I train more. Cheers
Hi Tom, would you mind being more specific on the work out type? Custom or Interval workout?
Sorry I can’t be more specific. I don’t have a 910, so I don’t know what the exact options are. DCRainmaker says it can be done, so hopefully somebody else can chime in with the details.
Thanks, I found Spending time with the ANT+ enabled spin bike | DC Rainmaker showing distance in the download of Garmin 610 paired with Schwinn bike, whereas I needed 910xt with Stages SC3, which has a very similar display.
