BlueSeventy Helix Reviews

Thinking about adding this to the arsenal and was wondering if anyone out there had any reviews of this wetsuit…I know most are drooling right now over the De Soto but I really am liking this…thoughts?

not the new one, the 2008 tst is snug and fast.

Its got great motion through the shoulders. I can’t say a bad thing about it.

i have an 2008 version. love it. Very flexible in the shoulders and fast. I believe Desert Dude did some testing and this was right at the top of the list

I have an 09 model and love it.

I will be interested to hear what people think about the 10 model because it took a bit of a price jump this year.

I have the 2008 also and find it works real well. I have a stocky build through the shoulders and find that this worked out better then a couple of other suits I tried.

I didn’t realize just how bad of a fit I had with a 2XU Elite suit until I bought the Helix 2009. I love the Helix. Amazing.

I tried out the 2010 a few weeks ago and swam in a pool with it. I thought it would be hard to improve over the last helix, but it’s even more flexible in the arms with 1mm yamma 40 cell. The new compression in the calf is more than just a gimmick, you really feel it compressing there, but without taking away the ease of exit because they have added a new slippery and flexible internal skin to the suit. And the colours stand out even more.

Emilio and I agreed for me to start lake testing the Water Rover in April. The 2010 Helix will be in the test.

B70 Helix is a great suit … the flexible shoulder panels make a world of difference. I’m swimming a 08 currently but probably will get a '10 once I can actually look at it. I am 6’4 220 so I’m supposed to not fit in a 1 piece (by ST say so) but it really fits me best and that’s tested by many IM races. I wasn’t surprised that it tested well in Desert Dudes unbiased wetsuit review last year. I own a number of wetsuits in my quest for speed from a suit alone … including 2 Orcas and the supposedly mythical (on ST) DeSoto 2 piece. For me, there is no comparison and its B70 … but as is said by many … fit is everything. Sorry, but I am not interested in the WR 10mm suit… I don’t need to float like a blimp … I need to move my shoulders and arms to swim!
For those who wonder, look at any picture of an IM start and see what AG people are wearing for wetsuits. They’ve all done a lot of training and spent their own money for the suit they’re wearing …you’ll figure it out!
