I currently have an opportunity to purchase a new blue triad frame. I just wanted to hear if anyone has heard any good or bad things about this frame? Has anyone actually ridden it and loved it? Thank you.
ps. I don’t understand how the seat height is adjusted. Do they give you a longer seat height and expect you to cut the frame? Yes I know this sounds stupid, maybe it is, but I don’t get it.
I saw the frame at Interbike and it looks super clean and based off the eyeball test would be up in the top tier for aerodynamics. Our local Blue rep has ridden it and said it rode well, stiff through the BB, but still some compliance (although the rep isnt going to say it rides like a dog!)
One of the best things about the Triad is you get an hour at the A2 wind tunnel with purchase of the frame, that is probably worth more than any difference between the Blue and anything else out there.
The Triad has a seatmast with a slide on seat clamp. You cut it to length. Just make sure that you or the shop measures two or three times to get that seat height right.
The Traid is a seat mast that requires you to cut it to length. It is pretty easy as it comes with a guide and a fine tooth hacksaw blade will do the trick…but measure twice…cut once.
however, we also will sell as an aftermarket item a seat clamp which will allow you to cut the mast down all the way to the top tube and then use our aftermarket seat post. This will allow some flexibility if you happen to make the wrong cut…and it allows us to have a demo fleet of these bikes.
Don’t you understand Slowtwitch Rule #3? You cannot say something is in the top tier of aerodynamics unless the frame brand starts with the letter C and ends with -ervelo…No matter what wind tunnel data you might have, it cannot be in the top tier it’s a Slowtwitch rule!
I’m pretty sure that I saw a guy in Atlanta on one of these. It was pimped out with race wheels for a ride on the Silver Comet trail. The guy had that proud but timid look you get when your riding a new bike. Not making fun of him because the bike looked sweet!!! Is look based in Norcross? Roswell Bikes used to sell Blue but now they mainly just sell crap though they may still carry Blue.
Atlanta Velo Exchange is listed as a dealer on their website along with several other metro dealers though that is the only shop listed that I’m familiar with.
we dont have a showroom in Norcross at this time…shoot with all the growth we have going on, we barely can make it through the day without bumping into ourselves.
The Triad is scheduled to hit retail locations in mid-december, you can find Blue at the following locations in the Metro Atlanta area;
The Bicycle Doctor in Norcross
Smyrna Bicycles in…well Smyrna
Reality Bikes up in Cumming (Todd has already pre-sold a couple of Triads)
The Trek Store down in McDonugh
Contes in Conyers
AVX in town
Hi,
I noticed this is an old post. 'was just trying my luck. Do you still sell the optional seat post for blue triad that has a seat mast cut short? Can you send me a picture of it? thanks
