I’m having the strangest problem. I’ve never been prone to blisters on my feet in the past. However, over the last 2 months every time I go on a long run I get long blisters on the arches of both feet. The only changes have been that I started doing CrossFit over the off season and I did that in mainly Cascadia trail running shoes. I’ve been a loyal Brooks Beast runner for 5 years and never had a problem. Nothing has changed, I don’t get it.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
did you change the type of sock you wear ?
Nope. Same sock. I’ve tried lacing up tight. Leaving them loose. Inevitably around mile 7 or 8 I start feeling the hot spot.
Has Brooks made any changes to the shoe design? I was a loyal Asics wearer (Kayano) for a long time but started having a similar problem. Switched to Brooks Ravenna and no more blisters.
The first blister was after running a half marathon in my shoes from last season. At that point I figured it was time for a new pair. It grew steadily worse from there.
Do you think it woe help if I tape both feet?
wear 2 pairs of very thin socks. yo may have to up shoe size. you will never blister again.
try Baby powder in your socks, small bearings to reduce/absorb friction and hold moisture.
Crossfit kills…
I’ll give that a shot. Thanks.
