A member of my local running club shared a book on foot care a few years ago. She had just completed two (2) 100-mile Trail Runs in 40 days without getting a single blister or losing any toe nails. She contributed that to what she had learned and followed from the book. I don’t remember the name of the book, but was probably Fixing Your Feet: Injury Prevention and Treatment for Athletes It should have all the information you are looking for on deciphering the cause of blisters.
