Blade or Tiphoon (1)

OK I am new to this forum, Just got back into traing after a couple of kids and although it appears this site has a prejudice towards Cervelo, wondering if there is a big difference between the Blade and TIphoon,. Wife said I can get a new bike, since the other ones are 10 years old. Thanks

“site has a prejudice towards Cervelo”

No it doesn’t. We just realize there are bikes and then there are Cervelos.

Serioiusly, as an aluminium Cervelo(and Giant) owner I’ll just step aside and let somebody else talk about those nice riding titanium Lightspeed bikes.

Don’t get me wrong I am open to all bikes, just that around here they seem to be the most popular, is there something fishy with the ride?

If you mean titanium, not at all IMO. Aluminium can be a bit harsh in comparison but there are other factors to consider besides material in bike design.

As I said, i’m not qualified to talk about the bikes mentioned except that I know they are excellent bikes. Hang in a bit longer and some owners will show up to answer your questions.

There are quite a few differences between a Blade and a Tiphoon and yes there are also some similarities. In terms of geometry, the QR geometry has shorter toptubes as compared to the Litespeed geometry, plus the headangle is steeper on the Blade versus the Tiphoon. QR headtubes are also in general shorter than those on Litespeeds.
In terms of tube shapes, there are significant differences. The toptube on a Blade is quite a bit smaller than the one on the Tiphoon, and tapers to an even smaller diameter towards the seattube. The downtube on the Blade is quite a bit more massive than the downtube on a Tiphoon. The seatstays on a Blade are curved and bladed, while those on a Tiphoon are straight and bladed.
I hope this finds you well.
