Alright, this is a serious question. I am sure I am not the only runner turned triathlete on here who is lacking any sort of butt. I got a new pair of Pearl Izumi bib knickers for Christmas and love them, but my lack of butt kind of forces the chamois to slide down and forward leaving not much in the area of my sit bones. And when I wear regular bike shorts I find the same thing and am continuously reaching back to pull them up as the always slide forward and down.
Most bike shorts I am a size medium in terms of my waist and legs, however I am sure I am a small or x-small in the butt area. Any other guys, find shorts that are tighter in the back or work better for those suffering from “runner’s butt?”
PI shorts and bibs have never worked for me. Too much “stuff” around the butt and crotch and once I get that area sized down sufficiently (S), the straps of the bib are too long to stay up on my shoulders (M). No wait, it’s vice-versa…well you get the idea - they just don’t fit right - I’m too short, as usual!!
This may be more info than you want, but for some perspective: I’m 5’5", 135 lbs, and wear around a 29" waist pant.
I have found a company though, where the sizes run perfectly for me: DeMarchi. I’m a size small. The bibs fit great, very comfortable, high-quality, long lasting stuff that’s not too expensive.
How long have you been biking? The reason I ask is that I had a small butt until I started biking. In fact, every spring when I jump back on the bike, my butt grows, but in the winter when I am only swimming and running my butt shrinks!
