Contact sports express. They will handle everything for you and insure your bike for $xx ( I can’t remember exact figure) free of charge if its in a case. Obviously you can buy more insurance. They arrange for UPS or Fed Ex to pick it up. It costs no more than directly booking with shippers and they are very helpful. They have a website, sportsexpress.com maybe? Anyway, I live in Hawaii and ship my bike out of here to races. They just picked my bike up Tuesday and took it to SF for me…kj

Sports Express does not operate from Singapore, thanks anyway KEJ.
“Via JAL I will surely be overweight and lots of hassles. Would rather pay UPS door to door than hassle at airport.”
I’m the opposite - I would rather have my bike with me (Francois’ experience noted). I’ve never found it much of a hassle to handle my bike at the airport.
JAL have a cargo service as well which goes door to door - it would be worth checking that out since you are flying with them.
Yeah, I think shipping TO Hawaii is extremely expensive, partly in an effort to limit the importing of goods from other places. That’s why so many mail order companies won’t even hassle with sales from Hawaii. Shipping FROM Hawaii is much much more reasonable…
Fly with your bike. Less hassles. Guaranteed.
I have flown MANY places with my bike.
Most airlines, overseas connections, bikes are free.
If you are flying with Singapore Airlines, then connecting JAL… likely free as well.
I’ve never waited more than 10mins extra for oversize luggage at the airport.
Posting your bike is extra time, extra hassle, extra money. Don’t bother.
If your touring Hawaii after, you can likely get your hotel to hold it for you for free or a minimum charge til you fly out.
