Bike Rental, Scottsdale AZ

I was wondering if anyone knows of a bike shop that rents dencent road/tri bikes in the Scottsdale area. Also a if you know a nice 30 to 50 mile loop that takes in the sights. I’m stay in the Camelback Inn arriving Feb 20th. I would love to get off my computrainer (I live in the Northeast) and feel the road again. I know there is alot of moutain biking there and thats fine but I would love to take a long ride, see the desert and get some sun on my pale face.
Thanks Kevin

I know they rent wheels, not sure about bikes.

Try Tribe Multisport. Owner is Kevin, couple of lame ducks that work there but there are a few good ones too. Kevins kinda strange, but he’s good.

Peace.

I stayed at Camelback Inn a few months ago…great places to ride and run around there. I brought my bike with me, but i remember seeing a bike shop when i was riding around. If i remember right there is a bike shop called Landis Cyclery only a couple of miles away…Scottsdale Rd & Shea. Not sure if they rent bikes, but its worth a shot.

As mentioned above, Landis is a good shop, not too far from your hotel - but they don’t rent bikes, at least they don’t advertise that they do so. There is a place in North Scottsdale called Arizona Outback Adventures, and they do rent bikes: http://www.aoa-adventures.com/

I have no connection with them and have never been to their shop, but from their location, you can do a popular 45 mile loop around the McDowell Mountains, which would include “9 Mile Hill,” a gentle, straight-as-an-arrow, 9-mile-long hill. If you do this loop (sometimes called the “Rio Verde loop”) clockwise, you go down the hill; counterclockwise, you go up. Of course, since it’s a loop, there is plenty of other climbing to make up for the 9 mile hill. They can probably direct you on this loop, I would hope; otherwise, let me know if you need more info.

Oh, the Rio Verde Loop has decent scenery, too.
