Bike Fitting?

Hi-

Like to get as much feedback as possible. I am looking for a good place to get fitted for a tri-bike. I have been to several bike shops to get fitted and just have not had any luck. I am looking for a place that truely knows what they are doing, has a ton of knowledge, experience and will spend as much time with you in order to get your fit and body dialed in just right. It doesn’t matter where they are located either.

Thanks!

Here’s a good place to start looking:

.

May I be the first to recommend Tom’s shop in Dearborn MI.

I will let the other’s explain why.

I’ll second what Bigsky just said if “joliet” means Joliet, IL. I used to live about 20 miles south of there and I drove all the way to Bikesport for a fitting; well worth the day I spent doing it.

I know you said it doesn’t matter where they are but it wouldn’t be very smart to recommend a shop in SoCal if you are on the east coast. There are good shop all over the country. So, where are you?

Paul Levine Signature Cycles www.signaturecycles.com No doubt worth the trip. Some amazing rides in the area as well.

I think a good place to start would be the Triathlete’s Training Bible (by Joe Friel)…I used the setup described in the book several years ago to set up both mine & my wife’s bike. Always the most confident in my ability, my wife insisted we take it to John Cobb at Bicycle Sports…He ended up not charging us because the position was exactly as he would have set it up.

BTW, does anyone know if Bicycle Sports is still in business? I remember reading about the problems they were having with there expansion, and the problems Cobb was having with Hed & Oval, but there’s still a functional website (although the phone numbers don’t work) and a message from Cobb stating that he’s closed all but the Tyler, TX store…

I don’t know where you are located…but if you look at my post from earlier today:

“In praise of Rich Ducar…” y…ou might make a visit to him!

Good Luck
