looks pretty good to me

also you look pretty fast. what’s your times?

Sorry about the large-in charge picture. I know enough about posting pictures to be dangerous. I was wondering if I should adjust my seat height, move more forward, and flip my stem to lower my bars. I have riden the bike 3 times and I need to get used to the aero position. I have been riding my road bike indoors this winter and I am not used to the aero position. Right now, after 3 rides, I am getting a little lower back discomfort which I contribute to the new riding position. Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Just printed off a copy of the photo and did the measurements. Looks darn good IMO. I moved the dot on your shoulder back to about the center of the humerous head. It’s too far forward IMO where you have it up on the top of the clavicle.

I get your knee angle at 150 degrees and the 90 degree bends of hip/torso and torso/elbow are there. Dropping a plumbline fron your ear it dissects just in front of your elbow joint where it should. Your foot position looks about right.

Hard to judge from a photo and some people may feel that you could get lower in the front, but I’d give the position you have high marks. Realize however, I’ve never claimed to be an expert.

I am so far from an expert on this stuff I am very reluctant to post my opinion. I would consider flipping your stem and seeing how that feels/looks.

Also, if your arms/shoulders are getting sore, it looks like you’ve got plenty of room to move those F-19 armrests back. I believe there are four holes, and it looks like you might have one or two mounting points left. You just don’t want to be running into them when you’re out of the saddle. Maybe I have defective kneecaps or something, but that is the worst kind of pain when that happens to me.

Speaking of profile aerobars, if you dig through your packing materials, I think there are a couple of different spacers included to put between the rests and the bars. If you want to try a very minor adjustment, you can go to the short ones or none at all to drop your front by 1 cm or so. Not as radical as flipping the stem.

Brett,

I’ll trust Cerveloguy’s measurements and make the following comments:

  1. At 90deg for hip angle I would evaluate moving for saddle forwards slightly (10mm to start).

  2. At 150deg for knee angle I would evaluate moving your saddle down slightly (5mm-10mm to start).

  3. As mentioned by Andy, I would bring your armrests back closer to your elbows. It looks as though your armrest holders are on backwards. They should angle back towards you before extending out to support the armrest tray. While there is nothing really wrong if they angle forwards, if you switch them left-right you will get your armrests further back and support the armrest better.

Overall, your position does look good. With only three rides you can should take your time feeling it out and give your back time to adapt to the new position.

Looks good to me.

When you’re done with those hamstrings, could you send me a pair like that?

While you’re at it, you may want to consider hacking off some of that hand-grip height. Those things seem too high to me…almost as if they were made for someone with gargantuan hands.
