Hi -

I have heard good things about Dirk Smeets. You can reach him at 305 968 7148 and ****305 527-4824.
Other than him, I think all “fitters” in the Miami area just have you straddle a bike and that’s it.
Where is he located? Is it at a shop?
racers edge in boca off 95 and glades, those guys are top notch pro bike fitters.
Don’t know which shop he is currently associated with… But many people that I know have used him with good results.

I would not recommend Racer’s Edge - not sure anyone in the shop has ever done a tri. Try Richard Nixon slowtwitch name is Irondicknixon.
Here is his website - http://www.fit2tri.com/page/page/784953.htm
Plus is he a top notch triathlete
You could go to Dirk, i have heard mixed reviews about his fittings but there is one guy who is cheaper, works out of a smaller shop and is said to be the best in FL, this from Pros to Cat 4 roadies to TT and triathlons guys telling me this. Ill have the info for you friday as I have class tomorrow all day. All i know is his shop is on US1 and 77th or so. He owns a small shop in a strip mall. Does all the work you want for cheaper than anyone in the city: fittings around $65-$70 (from what ive heard), trues wheels and hands builds wheels. Like I said PM me and ill make sure to drop by his shop and get you all his info.
@tomzeibart - is Adam Baskins affiliated with a shop? Where is he located?

Does racers edge have experience with Tri fitting?
Yes, Racer’s Edge fits lots of the areas top triathletes. They are excellent fitters. They sell a large volume of top tri bikes such as Cervelo, Look, Felt, etc.
Anyone who tells you that Racer’s Edge doesn’t know how to fit really doesn’t have a clue. Ask for Vince, he is not only an amazing fitter but perhaps the best wrench in Florida. And for the record, I believe that Vince has an extensive racing background.
truth be told, I am a LONG time lurcker but can count on one hand my replyes, this one deserves a post.
Racer’s Edge and Vince in particular KNOW how to fit, build, service and keep customers happy like no other. Unlike most shops that base YOUR fit on THEIR inventory, Racer’s Edge has no inventory. Fit comes first, then they find a frame within your geometry and budget. They have a price list and that is what you pay. No games or bartering when it comes times to specin your build. It is what it is, the way it should be. These guys are passionate about bikes and it shows from the minute they pick up the phone.
Best of luck with your fit, in my opinion and many other fast guys I train and race with its real easy 561-4160-9433
I myself went to Dirk. Nothing wrong with his fits if you don’t mind riding your TRI bike in a roadie setup. His mentality is all roadie and wont get you as aero or as steep as you would like to get on that P3 of yours. I hate to say that, as dirk is a great guy and who i happen to be firends with. I went to Dirk first and then was re-fit by Lee Zohlman at bodyzen, who i HIGHLY recommend. He’s located in the south miami area between dadeland mall and sunset place. He was very deatil and uses spin scan analysis and lasers to get you into the most efficient position while maintaining power. He recently fit Laura Bennet for the biejing olympics and has also fit athletes like
Lisbeth Kristensen: Two Time Ironman Champion
Andrew Johns: 1st Place Disney Half Ironman
Laura Bennett: US Number 1 ranked ITU Athlete
Arturo Garza: #1 Mexican ITU athleteOne thing i did notice immediatley was how good i felt on my first run off the bike after i was fit with Lee. Illl never forget that moment, it was huge difference compare to my previous set up!! Also he is 1 of 11 (if not mistaken) USAT elite level coaches in the country which also influenced my decision to go to him. Check out thier website or PM me and i could talk to you more in detail and put you in contact with him. Also, FWIW, keep in mind there are going to be tons of people you can get fit with in miami and they will say they’ll fit you for your TT setup. I am a perfect example and fell victim to the roadie setup on my TRI bike the first time around. BE SMART!
Adam Baskin, best in Florida, he was just here this past weekend doing fits, he comes down to So Fl every so often, if not I drive up to Clermont to see him. His website is www.catonefitness.com
Good Luck
Give me a call. I would be glad to help with your fit.
Cheers,
I’d recommend Rich Nixon at Fit2Tri (www.fit2tri.com). I’ve actually been to a couple of the other guys recommended on this string, and I’ve by far felt the best and had my best performances on the bike since being fit by Rich. Give me a shout if you have specific questions.
Tom at the Bicyclery is good too. He fit a friend of mine who is very happy with the results.

I second (or third) this recommendation. I just had a fit with him last week. He is excellent, really knows his stuff.
I forgot to add. He mentioned that he goes to S. Fla. frequently so you could probably set something up fairly easily.
I got fitted by two of the people mentioned on previous threads but, my best fit was with with Lee Zolhman… check him out at www.bodyzen.com
I recently moved to Los Angeles, but when my P4 comes in, Im flying to Miami to see him again. Thats how happy I was with my fitting
He is located in South Miami not too far from Sunset Place.
one more thing, he fitted US Olympic Triathlete Laura Bennett on her bike fit for the Beijing Olympics.
His number is 786-586-6059
