I know there are several places around Houston that offer bike fitting services but I also know that some of these places may employ individuals who aren’t so knowledgeable in fitting someone for triathlon bikes. I do not want to waste money paying for an improper bike fit. Where is the best place to go in the Houston area to get fit for triathlon bikes?
Thanks for the info, I will check them out. Any opinions on Bike Barn for fitting? The Bike Barn in Webster is the closest to me but don’t know how good they are at fitting people for triathlon bikes?

I used Cynthia at Bike Barn with great success. Also look into Tad Hughes or Jeff Chaffin.
Cynthia Stewart at Bike Barn Custom Fit Studio or Tad Hughes would be far and away my first two choices. Shama is really good put he’s a Guru guy so he tends to push clients in that direction and I personally think Gurus are overpriced pieces of shit.
I have been fit by Cynthia three times on two bikes. She even helped me pick out my last bike… which I didn’t even buy from Bike Barn.
Go see Philip Shama and you won’t be disappointed.
It’s not about who has the ‘new’ Guru system but who has the experience and the knowledge to guide you in the right direction. The new system is nothing but a fancy software and display package that most great bike fitters will have little use for. Shama has been at it for a while and his great reputation speaks for itself.

My understanding is that the ‘automation’ allows for the fitter to introduce micro adjustments to the apparatus on the fly without need of the person being fitted to stop pedaling all the while the display provides real time updates on the effect of the changes.

Make sure you do this one trick - Ride on the horns/hoods to get a good baseline of power (or speed) at that heart rate. When you drop into aero, you don’t want the heart rate to jump up a bunch to maintain the same power. If it does, you’re probably too low in the front and crunching your lungs.
