Bike Custom paint job

I’m flirting with the idea of getting my P2C frame custom painted… but I have no idea where to start. What does a custom paint job cost? Is there someone in Southern Ontario that does this?

.

Custom paint is fun and exciting but do think about a couple factors before paying for custom paint.

  1. For most manufacturers, re-painting the frame voids any warranty.

  2. Custom paint may affect your resale.

  3. How long will you keep your bike? Depending on what type of customer you are you may change bikes as technology changes. Some bike designs have been around for a number of years. If you have a “one-off” version of an older legacy bike, how much cash will you be able to get out of it to apply to newer technology when you move into the market for a new bike?

  4. Everybody is different- they assign difference significance to their bike ownership experience. If you’re a person who loves to “collect” stuff and are likely to hold on to it- go for it. Car collectors, “concours d’ elegance” type people- they are custom paint customers. They have their 1973 Bianchi Strada. Collectors. If you;re more of a racer, color doesn’t enter into the equation as much.

anyway- a few thoughts… Best of luck with your project.

Similar line of question can a Dual be powder coated? I had my fixie sand blasted and coated (it is steel). My dual is showing it’s age for sure. I guess then decals would be an issue.

Try www.hottubes.com.

I believe they are the only painter certified to repaint Cervelo’s without voiding the warranty. Ask for Toby Stanton.

I am not saying there is no one in Southern Ontario to look at, but I just don’t know of options there. Do check out Darin Wheeler of twowheelercustoms he does an amazing job.

He also recently painted my slowtwitch moto helmet and it is quite cool. (and yes I paid for it)

Hi all,
noah here from Velocolour
A friend told me about this post and that I should log on and set the record straight. Hope that’s not in bad taste.
I am a certified Cervelo re-painter as of three months ago or so. We all thought that since they are a Canadian company that they should have a Canadian painter.
I should have two or three recently painted Cervelos up in my gallery in the next week or two. Just been too busy to get them on the site. I have all of the artwork for factory style decals and what not and can create anything custom as well.
By the way I am not a tri-fellow but mostly a cyclo-cross racer and a bit of a roadie. But we can all be friends.
Appologies for the add here,
