I hope you don’t mind giving some insider info. My sister’s father-in-law has a condo in Maui that he’s letting her and her husband use in June. She’s invited me and my girlfriend to join, but we are on a tight budget. She just graduated from college, and is as yet, unemployed, so I’d be buying her ticket. Any good deals out there flying from Oakland? I’m a novice when it comes to traveling (flying), and knowing where and when to get the good deals on flights.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Don’t forget to check San Fran and San Jose as alternate airports to get to OGG (Maui). They can both be cheaper, btw. Alaska Airlines operates an Oakland-Honolulu flight pretty cheap, and then you can interline-interisland over to Maui on Aloha Air or Hawaiian or NWA.
For a same-airline connection, your best bet would be Aloha Airlines from Oakland to Honolulu and on to Maui. We fly a through-flight to Maui from SFO (stopping in Honolulu) starting tomorrow and running the whole year. Go to nwa.com, and you can get a better deal than if you called a reservation center. Also, don’t forget the travel websites. Great deals to be had there, also.
Aloha flies a 737-800 in ETOPs configuration. We’ll be flying a 757-300ETOPs with more seats. Hawaiian has flights from the West Coast out to here, too (they’re a code-share partner, so you can get a better deal on combo flights Hawaiian to Northwest).
