Big guy trail runners? Brooks Beast equivalent?

Hi
Does anyone know of a trail runner shoe that mimics the qualities that make the Brooks Beast? (support, motion control, shock protection, geared towards the 200+ pound club) Running the pavement is getting old and I would like to mix it up a bit

thanks

I suggest you just use your Beasts. I am a Cyldesdale and love to run trails. I mostly run groomed to somewhat groomed trails. I have always been fine using my regular Saucony Grid Stabils.

Have you tried your Beasts on the trail? I’m about 200lbs and use my regular road shoes for all trails w/o any problems. Unless you’re on very technical terrain or running through lots and lots of mud, you might not need a trail shoe.

just use the beast. there is no reason to use a trail shoe. regular running shoes do just fine (i run about 75% of my runs on trails)

The Beast is one of the best Motion Control shoes out there.
You can give the Asics Foundation a shot, but it’s not always as good as the Saucony Grid Stabil or the Beast.
You could also try a NB shoe… The number of the shoe escapes me though.

Shoot, don’t make me go all the way downstairs to my car just to get the make/model of my trail shoes.

I LOVE running singletrack. Much better than the street. I’m also sold on not using my street shoes on that kind of trail. Too much cushion.

they are fine when its dry but they arent that great when its muddy.

I run on very technical trails right out my front door. Elevation changes of 500-600ft in a 3 mile run, very rocky and twisty through the red rocks of Sedona. The only shoes I use are my racing flats, even on the trails. I ain’t quite 200 but 180 is close.
