Hello! im starting to do my open water training and hate swimming in the ocean by myself. I know that big corona in laguna beach is a popular spot for triathlon swimmers but i dont know what times the groups show up, i have tried looking on different tri teams web sites, but have not found any answers… my open water swim days are on sunday mornings, and tusday evenings. Dose anybody know what times any groups go out to train out their???

I’m sure we’re talking about the same place, but Big Corona is in Newport, not Laguna. That said, I believe if you look under the Calendar section of the OC Tri Club it’ll reference a few mid week swims there. If you go on the weekends at around 8 a.m. or so, you’re bound to run into a group of people swimming.
Thursday nights around 6pm at Big Corona there’s usually a pretty good sized group swimming.

i usually park on the street at the top of the hill, walk down the ramp to the parking lot and out to the first life guard tower. you’ll see wetsuits. it’s pretty casual.
