I’ve got #869.

Peter Reid Has got Simon’s Bib!

Seriously though - why is Lessing listed as USA - I know that his British-ness has always been a bit “flag of convenience” but is he now officially racing as a seppo?

The column is entitled Country and not Nationality. This could really be anything, but is probably where they currently live. Not sure why they can’t show nationality (if they asked for it?)

Same reason Gordo and Molina are listed as NZ and not Canada and USA, respectively. I believe someone once said it’s which license you hold, so Simon races here (US) and is a USAT member.

Bella Comerford represented GB at ITU LC WCs, and could not have done so without a GB licence. I’d be surprised if she didn’t register that where she could, in favour of her USAT licence. I’d also be surprised if any pro did not have a licence for their home country.

As an Irishman living in Scotland, I hold 3 licences: Irish, Scottish and British.

I’m a bit electronically challanged and assume you click on atheletes competing by bib # but it won’t come up. What am I doing wrong.

True Right! Imagine World Ironman champion and Rugby World Cuup Champions at the same time!

You might be winding me up, but I’ll point it out anyway: UK does not have a rugby team. England does (and, yes, it used to be quite good), but England does not equal GBR or UK. And I don’t think any of the home nations can proudly lay claim to Simon Lessing.

I’ll stop now before we are banished to the Lavender Room

Absolutely right! Did I mention UK or GB? I don’t recall doing so, and if you check my signature it quite proudly states my location and without either set of initials

Quite good? Best in the world when it mattered '-)

If Simon will win he will be UK, otherwise, he is American.

In formula 1 when David Coulthard wins a race is a British driver, when he is not so good he is a Scotish driver.

I read once on the Gordo website that the country is determined by the address you put when applying for the race.

I thought that perhaps the real reason for your post is to announce the fact that you are doing Hawaii (for those who are not aware).

So good luck to you and Slick and congratulations.

Well actually, I was just trying to figure out who was going, so I could meet some people on here from the US, as Im from Australia.

C’mon, surely more are going than 2 of us?

…and may there be many Aussies in the top 10

Is two enough? I think that’s all you’re getting. Well, 3 if you count the ladies.

I just checked and I am the last of the 3 digiters … 999. See you on the big lava rock! I won’t stand out as much as you Pinkboy but I will be one of the few (or only?) people riding a Wheeler bike and you can look for me with the wild (kind of ugly!) Tyr top my kids picked out for me last year so they could pick me out of the crowd at IMFL. I did my last long training day of 6 hours today and I’m looking forward to starting my taper

#304 will be riding a black Griffen.

829 here, grouped with all the other 41-year-olds with a first name beginning with “M” – strange way to distribute numbers, but hey, we’re there!

1099! WooHoo.

1374 here…
