Beware User "cycling 772"

Very questionable attempted buying behavior. Just saying.

he joined yesterday…

i’ve been noticing this trend a lot lately within the classified’s.

It is really unfortunate, because *everyone *becomes suspect. Even those that are legit.

I no. It frustratin. Just last wek me were trying to buy sometin like a bike that me dad always want & I promise I buy for him. He always want exact one for sale. I promise seller he just had cash the check I send, wire me the extra money, and let me Laotian agent pick up from him cause I been in Guatemala for last 15 months taking care of me Nigerian prince cousins estate affair. He die & leave me lots money so govermet cant get it. I even insist on payin full price and the seller still suspect the problems. I mean come on guys, I been a ST forum person for 76 minutes now, so sure that should get me some person who belive what me say.

tough to validate people
.

What did he do?

It was all very subtle, but made me highly suspicious

  1. Offered to pay for shipping (when I had said I would include), but wanted to know my return address in order to create shipping label
  2. Wanted my Paypal info, i.e., email addy
  3. Did not respond to emails after I had invoiced his stated email
  4. Did not respond until AFTER a given deadline for purchase, then changed emails
  5. Continues to send emails asking me if I have sent info

Enough for me. Shame on me for not checking out length of time he had been in ST.

Too much work. I don’t go beyond the “What’s your paypal?”…(I send paypal)…“Payment Sent” method. Although I’ve had some buyers ask for my phone number for some reason.

When shipping with FedEx the form asks for a phone number for the recipient in case they need to call for some reason. I typically just put in 999-999-9999, some people may not know that is an option.

i happened to notice that he had also posted simultaneously on multiple ads for wheels making offers and saying he had cash ready. i guess that could be a normal person, but it just struck me as a little odd, since you shouldn’t really make multiple bids at once to different sellers.
