Betsy Andreu Interview

well worth the hour or so…very interesting to say the least.

Betsy is outspoken and articulate. She’s also never afraid to form and voice an opinion. I’ve always respected her and her strong sense of propriety. It is intersting that she has earned a place in cycling as one of its most outspoken critics of the doping issue.

i don’t know her personally but from the interview alone she never wanted that stage but i applaud her for being outspoken and courageous.

“strong sense of propriety?” what the hell does that mean? “courageous?” soldiers fighting for your country are courageous. betsy andreu is pathetic. the only way to accurately describe Betsy Andreu, and others like her, is as an opportunistic hypocrite. Support doping and your husband (fiance) when you can make money off of it, and once you’ve max out on that and can no longer profit from it, try to make money by becoming a doping critic and accuse (lynch) others (without any probative evidence whatsoever) of doing the very illegal thing that you supported in the first place–doping.

When exactly did she “support” doping? From what I’ve read she has always been against it. I don’t know her; I only know what I read. Do you know her? If not, where are you getting your information from? I believe in hearing all sides of the story and I’d like to read what you’ve read and evaluate it for myself.

"Betsy Andreu told the Times she blames Armstrong for pressuring teammates to use drugs, saying her husband "didn’t use EPO for himself, because as a domestique, he was never going to win that race.
“It was for Lance.”

That is what you call a coward…always blame someone else for your problems. Blame someone else for messing up.

Per Betsy’s sworn testimony, she and her husband heard Lance Armstrong admit to his doctors that he used performance enhancing drugs. She heard Lance admit he used drugs. That’s evidence enough for me, why shouldn’t she speak out about it.

Even some of her other comments related to Lance trying to track down vials of EPO that seemed sketchy when I first heard about them do not sound so surprising after everything else that has happened in cycling lately.

That’s enough evidence for you? Good thing you are not a lawyer or a judge.

In response to the Walsh book, Lance’s attorney posted a bunch of info from the trial:

Including Betsy’s testimony:

.

So if it was a fact that lance pressured the team to use drugs, it is cowardly of her to state that fact?

You said she was making claims when SHE had no evidence. If she did indeed hear these things, that is plenty of evidence for her to speak on.

Her testimony alone is clearly not enough evidence for US to convict or even suspect anyone of anything

I love the interviews on that site. Great to listen to while running.

Wow, reading the testimony, the lawer and betsy both come across as jerkoffs
.

And what did the doctor in the room testify he heard?

Not sure but it’s amazing how you can either keep people quiet or shut them up with a lot of money.

Its amazing he has any money left then.

i watched lance on hardball with chris matthews a couple of days ago. lance was plugging a cancer forum for presidential candidates. unfortunately, matthews being the jerk he is sometimes asked lance about drugs and the tour. boy did lance do a texas 2-step on those questions. the real kicker was lance said what a dumbass vino was for doing something that is easily (my word) tested for. he did not jump on him for doing drugs/blood doping. makes you wonder if lance condones doing drugs in a way that does not get caught.

i saw lance race in '89 bud light in miami and truly a remarkable athlete, but i really wonder given the long list of present/former tour riders, i wonder if he really raced clean.

Betsy Andreu hears riders say I use PED’s
.

apparently they haven’t been able to track down the doctor that was in the room it wasn’t LA’s normal DR. Also, his medical records must have been tampered with since they show no record of him claiming to have used those drugs.

The transcript of Betsy Andreu’s testimony does not paint her as a credible witness at all.
