Best treadmill of the 3 - Sole, Bodyguard, BH

I want to get a treadmill to run at home. This would be for my wife doing 30-45 min 2-3/week in the winter. I would also use it for some winter evenings as I run in all weather except night and ice. I usually run at 4-4:20min/km pace 1hr max on treadmill. Our local store sells only this 3 brands and I am looking for overall build and quality issues.

The reviews on the site tend to favour higher end treadmills and I would like an opinion on these 3. Budget under 2000, any of these fit
Sole - F80 F 83, F 85 S77
Bodyguard - T240, T240P, T240C
BH - T6base, T8 base

Which is best ??

Thanks in advnace

Sorry I can’t help you with an individual review of any of those. Have you looked at any of the reviews on treadmilldoctor.com yet?

Not sure where you live… but I just purchased a NordicTrack C1500 from Costco.com. $899 + tax delivered in the US. For the light use you are describing, it would suffice. That’s about how much I use it. It can go to 12% incline and 12mph. And it’s fairly quiet.

But the beauty of it is, Costco has a 100% satisfaction guaranteed return policy on most items. They took back my 2 yr old treadmill because the front roller broke and wasn’t covered under warranty - and required a $200 part.

As for reviews… it’s supposedly the “best treadmill ever made under $1000”

Save a few bucks, take comfort in Costco’s policy, and buy yourself some other goodies…

Or… check out the more expensive treadmills at Costco.

I have an older Bodyguard Champlain (similar to 240?) and it is a very nice machine, never a problem after 4 years. Feels quite stable, almost as good as the industrial ones in a large gym. I think they are made in Montreal.

Like you this was purchased for my wife, but you will probably find you use it more than expected. Pretty handy to have.

I think at best you are mostly going to get people telling you the one brand they have used. Unfortunately that’s all you can get for me.

I own the Sole F85. Bought it last winter. So far I am very happy with it. Very sturdy, rock solid, smooth, and quiet. Easy to put together. No problems so far. In particular I like the fact that it is folding. I held off buying a treadmill for years because I needed a folding one but did not trust their reliability or sturdiness. Not so with this one. Like the warranty too.

My only complaint so far goes with the strap. Yes, the strap they gives you works great. Unfortunately, my Polar strap (much more comfortable) does not work well at all. It gives readings, but they are all over the map. Yet this same Polar Strap works just fine with my Polar HRMs. I was under the impression that the thing was Polar compatible.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

I was going to spend over $2,000 on a treadmill. At the last minute I looked on Craig’s list and found a used Pacemaster 10 minutes away for $400. It’s been great so far. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, but it let’s me run as fast as I want as long as I want! You might consider that.

never ran on any of those brands, we have a precor at home (model 9.33i) which is gym quality in feel and has been excellent for the last 3 years. As far as in gyms on the road, my favorite brand is life fitness, then precor then star track…
