I’m looking to get a new treadmill. I’d like to get something for under $2000. Foldable would be nice but not necessary. Don’t need all the fancy doo dads. I’m more of an old school guy. Any recommendations? Thanks.

http://www.nordictrack.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_-1_10301_12401_59002_182969 I have this one. I love it. I run at least once a day on it. My 400’s are at 12 mph and you can still hear the TV. I tested about 20+ treadys before I pulled the triger on this one.
Good luck-
We got the livestrong treadmill, the model that is 2and from the top. Long deck, good surface, overbuilt. It can go 15MPH, has a monster motor. (insert PED joke here). I bet you could get a heck of a deal on one right now. Plus it has this fetching yellow-band color scheme…
Pacemaster Silver Select XP. I live on a mountain where there’s snow and icy roads for 7 months of the year so I’ve used this treadmill to train for two Ironman races. I’ve had it since 2007 and it’s cost me $79 in repair and maintainence. It had a squeeky deck but they replaced that and the belt free of charge. Love the thing.
sole f80. order direct from sole. good machine.

Agree. Go for the F-85 if you can affotd it. Great machine

Ordered direct, free shipping but I paid $100 (I think) and they carried it into my basement for me. There was a bit of assembly but I had no problem getting it set up (and that is saying something).
I just turned over 1000 miles on it and I haven’t had a problem yet.
Used woodway.

Where can you find one of these? I’ve never seen one on Craig’s list.
best idea: pocket the $2k. buy yourself nice shoes, and some nice thermal wear. use natures never-ending treadmill
Precor 9.23 and 9.27. Both on sale at Dicks Sporting Goods for $1099 and $1299. In store only. Great treadmills at awesome prices.
I think I might go with the Sole F85(2012) for $1600 or a new F80(2013) for $1500. Yes, I plan to pay the extra $99 to have them carry it upstairs. The Sole gets really good reviews including Cosumer Reports.
I’ve been running outside for 40 years and at age 61 the knees are starting to get a little sore. So I think the softer surface will help.
Thanks to everyone for their recommendations.
When I bought a treadmill about 2 years ago I did way too much research about them and eventually settled on the Sole S77. (Their S models don’t fold, F ones do. We have the space to leave it unfolded and I figured the fewer moving parts the more solid.) It has been rock solid and has gotten a lot of use in the Michigan winters. The F80 2012 model that others have mentioned is on sale for super cheap ($1049, free shipping) right now. Here’s a link. That’s a screaming deal.
I bought a Nordictrack Commercial 2150 about 5 months ago and it has been great so far. But I’m not a fast runner, so its 12mph limit is fine for me but might be an issue for others. Also, the treadmill surface is not as padded as some of the other treadmills out there. It does have a wide surface and is 60" long, so is great for taller runners with bigger strides. I do also like the Android tablet interface.
Anyone have any experience with the Epic A35t or similar? I’m interested in the iFit mapping capability and the decline ability.

Any idea if a Precore 962i is a good deal for $750?
This guy bought a refurbished model 8 years ago…and now he’s selling it. Not sure if all that use would mean it’s still good. Maybe it’s a beast though.
Pacmaster is great-- I have a gold. I fractured the original deck, which they replaced free of charge (replacement was a heavier bild). Also upgraded the control board (free of charge) as well. My understanding is that the company went belly up.
Just got a sole… Love it!
Scout craigslist. People are always selling their treadmills, but you have to look for the good ones…big motors, etc… I picked up a $2K+ tready for $300.
