I don’t know street names but have run this route plenty of times: early morning, bring water with you. Run up the road, away from Waikiki towards Diamond Head. Past the park, keep right veering towards the water. There’s a road that travels around Diamond Head, along the Pacific (good hill climbs and views). Follow the road until you notice the “V” split (there’s a park in the middle). Take the left, so you keep going around Diamond Head. Go into Diamond Head, up the hill - pay the $1 to enter the park and run up (as much as you can) Diamond Head. If you go early enough, you won’t hit the tours and tourist.
Otherwise, I don’t know of any trail runs - I’ve hiked in Honolulu but it was some pretty strenuous hiking - on trails only known by the locals.
BTW - I’m so jealous that you are in Honolulu right now.
Hawaii Loa Ridge. You can run the first 3/4th’s then hike the steep section at the end for an amazing view of the windward side. The trail head is at the top of a subdivision on Hawaii Kai side of Honolulu.
On North Shore you could run out to Ka’ ena Point. I used to hike out there in the mornings, never ran it though.

The run around Diamond Head is really nice. You can take Diamond Head Ave → Monsarrat Ave → Kalakaua Ave back to Diamond Head Ave for a fun loop. A lot of places to just run around there. I can’t remember any of the trail runs I did off the top of my head but there were a few that were within a short drive of downtown. If you end up around Diamond Head stop by at the Diamond Head Cove Health bar for a fish wrap and acai bowl. Killer!

Ka’ena Point is nice, but take a friend if you go. Can get pretty shady if you’re not a local on the north/west side of the island.

Everything in the box is up Tantalus which overlooks Honolulu.
I would second the Tantalus runs. Over on the windward side is nice too, like in Maunawili area and along the base of the Ko’olaus.
I’ve seen many people running (at least part of the way) up Kuliouou out towards Hawaii Kai. Running up Koko Head is a good workout, but not really a trail.
