OK Slowtwitch, I need your help again. The pediatric ENT wants us to use ear plugs for my daughters first swimming lessons. Any good recommendations for swimming plugs for a 4-year old?

Any of the moldable kind should work, you may not need to use the whole piece. One piece may be enough for both ears. These should work fine for swim lessons as the ears don’t get as wet as they do during a swim practice.
I had to wear custom molded one’s at that age, but I was swimming at least an hour a day with a competitive swim team.
We have had 11 years of tubes in swimming kiddos ears so I think at this point we have tried every plug out there. The custom molded ones never fit my kids right. We have tried 6 different pairs from 3 different companies. The moldeble wax ones also fell out for them. Our winners have been the ones that look kind of like arrows and have blue on the bottom and yellow on the top.
Tip: Swab the skin where the earplugs will touch with a q-tip dipped in common rubbing alcohol, then dry with a kleenex. It will help the plug stick better to the ear. Trust me. I had to wear earplugs from that age in the mid 70’s to now and the Mack’s earplugs were a God-send to me.
You can get the silicone plugs in a soft, colored version made especially for kids: http://www.become.com/kids-ear-plugs-silicone?&qet. Speedo and Mac both make versions.
