I live in a small, urban apartment. Looking for recommendations for a small, quiet, effective fan to keep me from overheating on trainer rides.
Other ST threads about fans discussed powerful, industrial fans in amazing pain caves located garages, spare rooms, and basements. My
“pain cave” exists only 1 hour per day and is also my living room and WFH office these days.
Any fan recommendations would be most appreciated!
It’s smaller, quieter and much more effective than the generic white box fan I was using previously. It’s also quite a bit smaller than I was expecting and would be easy to hide away when not in use.

We have 2 of the slightly older Stanley versions and they are amazing. I absolutely recommend them.
If you are a light sweater, needing a light fan only, a small Vornado floor fan ($80ish) is fine and can be very quiet, and takes minimal floor space, looks fine in a living room.
If you are doing heavy-duty workouts (all of mine, basically) a Lasko Blower is the best. But it is not quiet (not super loud) and it looks very industrial, meaning out-of-place in a living room. You will not use this fan for non-workouts, as the low setting is pretty powerful. But it’s probably the best bang for buck workout fan out there, honestly.
I’ve had a Honeywell TurboForce air circulator and it’s done the trick nicely. What I would consider small and not too loud. The adjustability for direction is nice too.
Start with two Honeywell HT-900 Fans (DCR
Rainmaker recommends them) and add more as required. They are dirt cheap, not loud, and available everywhere.
