Best Riding Shades for Sensitive Eyes/Contact Lens Wearers

I’ve tried various types of shades w/ the wraparound lenses but still have problems with getting dust in my eyes. Ideally looking for something I can ride and run with. Have very sensitive eyes and always seem to get dust in them, which is especially painful w/ contacts. Any suggestions welcome.

If you are willing to drop around $400, why not just get some prescription sunglasses? that fixes the contact problem. I rode with contacts for a long time and finally made the switch to some Rudy Project sunglasses. Amazing difference!!

I like Rudy Project shades but still get dust in my eye from time to time. Pollen season is the worst - it absolutely kills me in the left eye where I use a hard contact lens. Not much of anything is going to completely keep dust out though unless you start riding with goggles - that might actually save some transition time though since you can go straight from swim to bike with a single pieve of eyewear

This is a great idea! haha

I wear contacts and have raced up to and including Half Iron distance this year. I can tell you that for $29.99 on bonktown, my Tifosi Slips are a hard bargain to beat. The glasses came with 4 lenses, 1 hard case, and the little baggie thing that doubles as a lens cloth.

Oakley Radars. The bigger the lens the better. I’ve got the Radar Path lenses right now, those are the smallest you can get in the radar line, and I never get ish in my eyes. I’m sure oakley has a lens with enough face coverage for you. The question is…are you sexy enough to pull off some XL Blades? M-frames would work too, but those are getting a little old…

If all else fails just steal some chemistry goggles from your local high school…

Mate, I’m too sexy for ALL consumer products made for the average joe! That and I’m pretty f’n humble too.

If all else fails just steal some chemistry goggles from your local high school…I use the Oakley Radar range, which I think is the biggest lens. I LOVE it - it gives lots of protection, no light or wind coming in via the sides and the frame does not block the view when riding in aerobars. I use these for all my rides and runs. Personally i prefer Oakley Bottle Rocket -OO 9164-01 . It gives your face a perfect fit and protect your eyes from dust and all.Summer Offers on Contact Lenses. I wish I could do that, but for anyone that rides with a decent amount of drop it’s really tough to get much useful vision through the actual lenses. Remember, we can’t look over the top of our frames and see, if it ain’t through Rx glass we don’t see it!
