Thinking that with the Texas heat this summer it may be time to shave my legs. Is there a “best” razor that everone likes for this or will any old razor due?
Anything will work. A safety razor will be cheaper and better once you learn to stop slicing your legs open.
I generally use the gillette 3 or 4 blade cartridge. Just watch the knees and bony parts.

I wanted to get a really manly razor that will make me feel like a true lumber jack while using it while I shaved my legs. I decided to go with the Venus Divine because it’s electric blue color is designed for a true man’s man. Now I can feel like I can bench press a Sequoia while I have silky smooth legs*.*
For a first-time shave, I recommend using something like clippers to get the hair trimmed down. Then use a razor to finish it off. Ttrying to use a razor to cut it all will just chew through a bunch of blades, you’ll end up with more cuts & nicks (trust me), and it takes forever.
For the razor itself, I use a Venus. Yeah, it’s a chick razor, but it works way better on the legs than manly-man razors I’ve tried. YMMV.
I use cheap, store-brand hair conditioner for razor cream - works like a champ.

Schick Extreme 3 disposable razor. Not eco-friendly, but in my neck of the woods disposable razors are cheaper than their equivalent refills.
No matter what razor you use make sure to “0” clip your legs before hand and anywhere else you are shaving, will take less time and save you on razors. But I would agree the womanly razors like Venus and whatever they know what they are doing and make it easy.

Thats what I use and I shave at the sink after I shower.
Whenever I try to shave in the shower I get too hot and start sweating.

Best one is a sharp one. Any will do. Use a decent cream ands make sure legs are wet. Rinse blade after every stroke so get rid of hair and free up the cutting surface.
As everyone else said, buzz cut the legs first to get rid of most hair.
Moisturise legs the day or two prior to doing it. and use something after shaving to moisturise a bit. Dry skin is the cause of itching. Something with aloe works well. I’ve never itched.
Take … your … time.
My wife thinks I am a tit for doing it, contrary to everyone elses ‘my partner loves it’ stories

Use the one you’d use for your face, it’s not a big deal. Otherwise, borrow your wife’s.
Bic Flex 3 and the pink skintimate. Works wonders and once can is usually enough for 2 guys to do a full body shave.
If its your first time be careful and go slow, I just shaved two weeks ago for my conference meet and got a little careless around my heel and left a veritable blood bath for the poor housekeeping staff 
Also my friend and I used a bucket of water to rinse the razor off in, just swish it in the water after every pass.
Yeah, I use men’s razors on my legs.
Interchangeable. Main difference is glitter, pink, floral stench, etc.
3+ blades is best. Hair conditioner makes decent shave cream, but so does Aveeno.
