Taking a business trip there in May just before a race.
Will be heavy into training and so I’m looking for a hotel that has the largest pool possible.
I won’t have much time at all while there so I don’t think going to an athletic club / gym is going to fit.
Any suggestions on hotels with large pools in New Orleans and / or sweet fitness center?

There are a few masters swim groups down there. I can’t remember the name of the one a co-worker swam with when she was there, but I’ll see if I can find out.
You might be able to use Tulane’s pool (it’s Olympic sized) and I think there is an athletic club (not a gym, but a city club) on St. Charles that had a lap pool. The rest of the pools there are more lounge pools. Maybe check the Marriott (JW and regular) and Sheraton on Canal. Also the Riverfront Hyatt might have one.
Mid week or weekend?
Depending on how close to the city you need to be and whether or not you have a car you might consider the Marriott at Lakeway Plaza.

I apologize for the quick edits with paint, but it might help put it into context. The hotel is in Metairie which is about 7 miles from the downtown / central business district area.
The reason I suggest staying here is the hotel has a nice fitness center with virtually brand new equipment if you need a treadmill, they offer spin classes as well if you want to ride. There is a path that runs along the lake that offers plenty of room to run if you want to go outside and if you have a car you’re about 7 miles from the UNO Lakefront Arena which has an indoor pool for use as well.
The star on the map is an area where traithletes will often get in OWS during mid week afternoons that portion of road is part of the run course for NOLA 70.3.
No good options at hotels. Even the $$$$$ WIndsor Court pool is only about 15 yards.
Most nights you can pay $5 to swim at the olympic pool at the University of N.O. Aquatics center – check their website or facebook page for hours.
The place on St. Charles Ave. is the JCC - not sure if they sell one-day memberships.
Elmwood Fitness Center has several nice 25y pools, but may not have a day option for guests unless you’re with a member.
Harry’s dive shop in Metairie lets you swim in their 25-yard pool on Saturday for $5.
Your best bet is to just drive over to UNO and use their pool. They have an indoor 50m pool and an outdoor 25yd pool. I think it’s only a few bucks, and it’s a great facility. From downtown, it’s about a 15 minute drive. It’s also on the lakefront which is a great spot to run. There’s also the “swim hole” on the lake which is where we do all all of our open-water swims. Univ of New Orleans is your best bet. There are also YMCAs that have pools, Belle Chase and Metaraie but call ahead to see if they are open. Univ of New Orleans has indoor and outdoor with $5 entry for anyone. … it is my go-to pool when in NOLA 3-5 times per year
If Crew has Masters, that must be really new. I see Brett often and he hasn’t mentioned it.
There is an endless pool nearby – Mississippi River. Run the levee and just jump in when you feel like it.
Seriously if you are a Y member there are a number throughout NOLA.
We always stay in Gulfport on the beach when we go to NOLA as a beach is more exciting than being in the middle of drinking/debauchery.
The ritz carlton has an endless pool. Didn’t seem strong enough of a current for any serious swimming though. Wasn’t sure if it was adjustable, I was just goofing off.
