I luckily just came across an amazing small/organic/fair trade/well priced restaurant here in Panama City. I had an amazing homemade delicious humus plate with fresh bread/olives/greens with olive oil,…REAL fruit smoothy, green tea, smoked salmon platter with capers/greens, egg sandwich with dill havarti cheese etc. It’s called SEA BISCUITS cafe & catering just west of the transition area/Boardwalk hotel by less than 1mile. It is in a small strip plaza just adjacent to the Waffle House. Address is 10472 Front Beach Road, phone 850-249-0402. Has been open for only 2-months,…I wish I had stumbled upon this place earlier.
We ate at Waffle House, along with alot of other racers, this morning. The manager was so flustered at the massive crowds coming in the door that he was muttering “Jesus Christ, this is gonna be a long day!” under his breath. The floor looked like someone had dumped bacon grease on it. Gotta love southern comfort food!
I stopped in at the Waffle House around 1pm today,…sat down, then took a look at the menu,…the kitchen looked disgusting,…then B-lined it out the door. Made it acrossed the street and found this gem. It reminds me of the Tea House in Penticton,…for those who do IRONMAN CANADA.
Thanks for providing a strett address. If all you said was a strip mall next to a Waffle House, it would be impossible to find because there’s about a zillion different spots that fit that description.
If you’re still down there and are willing to drive about an hour west to Destin, FL- I’d highly recommend McGuire’s Irish Pub. Best Prime Rib i’ve ever had… yum!

And McGuire’s is pretty good about supporting the local running community- they RD races out of both their Pensacola and Destin restaurants and their Pensy location hosts a local running club for beer and beans after one of their weeknight runs.
It can be a little too much Irish theme park at times, but I dig how there tend to be randomly appearing bagpipers if you’re there at the right time.
If anyone ever wants Destin eatin’ recommendations give a yell and I’ll do my best to steer you the right way. You can do so much better there than you can do in PCB.
