Best place in Europe for summer training camp?

One more week at the office and than it’s time to fully commit to training, give me some travel-advices for a 2-week training camp with a lot of cycling and running. I’ve not been on Mallorca in the summer, is it too hot for training during July?

I think Mallorce is better around Feb/Mar. Depends what your looking for I think, bourgeois de osions near alp du huez has great mountain and road cycling, just about anyplace in the alps has that however. Look for a place like that with good open water swimming.

Beautiful cycling, lots of trails to run. Open water swimming.

Far more history & culture than the Balearics. Wine wine wine wine…

If you want open water swimming have a look at Annecy France. Lake Annecy is the clearest and cleanest lake in Europe (so the locals tell me). The proximity to Switzerland means lots of money in the local economy, so well maintained roads, even the small country roads.

Mallorca have been very hot the last weeks. From mid august it should be ok.
Area around Davos in Switzerland is very nice but also very expencive.
Lago di Garda in Italy and also around Pisa is good areas. Sea outside Pisa is very good temp for swimming now. (I was there this week, 28-30 degrees air temp)
All area outside Nice in France I heard is very nice as well. But maybe well hot at summer.
In mid summer I would go for Swiss or French Alps. Lots of great places and decent temp.

I hear Ibiza is nice…

Oh, did you mean *triathlon *training…

Austrian Alps namely Kitzbuhel. Beautiful scenery, clean air, altitude, off season prices, well marked and safe running and cycling paths.

I second Annecy. I have trained there on multiple times in the past and always found it to be a great mixture of training opportunities, from the high Cols to more moderate climbs and flat roads as needed. As pointed out, the lake is fantastic and there is a great 50m pool for pool swims. Plenty of good running on the flat around the lake or trails up in the hills. Lots of nice restaurants and overall a great sporting city that is very easy to get to (fly to Geneva and drive 45min).

I am in Kitzbuehel since 2 weeks. the weather was so-so, but thats ok for me. beautiful scenery for sure. bring your mtb. well worth it.

The forcast for mallorca for the next few days is high 80ºs low 90ºs with 70 % humidity.

Road cycling not good n Kitzbuhel. Go to Fuschl Am See in Austria. Mohrenwirt Hotel run by a triathlete for triathletes. Awesome place for SB and R.

Swim start at the new Ironman Ibiza? No wetsuits allowed…

Edit: That should be the next caption contest!
One couple reaction to WTC ban on wetsuits at Ironman Ibiza…

I second this. Been there but much better for MTB.
Wish I could anser the OP question. A friend of mine went to Mallorca on one of the cycling tours and she totally loved it. It was in late April though.

Well, there have been some interesting suggestions, France is appealing. I want easy access from an airport to simplify the travelling.
