I have the all carbon clincher with the raissded brake surface and Kool Stop carbon specific pads. The combo just doesn’t inspire confidence with Bonelli on the horizon next year.
Has anyone tried other pads with these carbon copy rims? Kool Stop yellows perhaps?
Yeah, Swiss Stop Yellow. They are expensive and it seems like carbon rims eat them up, but they do a damn good job. Also, their literature says they are OK for aluminum breaking surfaces, they in fact do work but get black as night. I you use the same pads on both just make sure to keep them clean.
I have also had really good results with the baradine pads that come with the cheaper Reynolds Assault wheels. They are not very expensive, as compared to SS Yellows. You may want to give them a try.
