Best nutrition bar: taste and composition

Shameless sponsor plug but Amrita makes delicious bars. Similar to larabars but are lighter and sweeter.

Cliff Mojo bars are delicious.

I think I’ve tried more than my fair share of all the bars on the market from Picky to Bonk Breaker and the list goes on.

I don’t really consider Stinger waffles a bar as they are more like a cookie but I like them a lot.

Clif bars are also great and they continue to come out with interesting favors and can be relatively cheap when found on sale.

“Nutrition” makes me laugh
.

I usually eat a cliff bar for breakfast at work with yogurt and banana… White chocolate macadamia nut is the best by far IMO; however I eat all the flavors…

They are mostly organic also…

Quest Nutrition, hand’s down.

But then again, that depends on what you’re going for. They’re strictly protein, and taste utterly fantastic. 0-5 grams of carbs and 0-5 grams of fat. 20 grams of protein. Add this and say, a banana, and you have the perfect post-workout recovery.

Here’s another vote for Quest.

I basically just eat one to placate my chocolate bar urges every couple days. They give me an ok amount of protein, not much crappy carbs (I’m not anti-carb, just prefer to get them from the right places), and taste awesome.

These are the best:

Don’t taste quite the same as Reese’s (have more of a dark chocolate flavor, and a HINT of odd aftertaste), but more than good enough for me, especially living in Korea where they don’t sell Reese’s. Double Chocolate Chunk, Coconut Cashew, and PB&J, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough are also very good.

Just reiterating my love for Quest… I just purchased 16 boxes. Seriously.

  1. I have a recipe for a date/fig bar that is my go to. Better than anything store bought. I sell them to friends.
  2. Stinger Waffles (honey only)
  3. Mojo (red label only)
